PAXTON – The Paxton-Buckley-Loda High School cross country team had one senior celebrating senior night at its final home meet of the season on Tuesday.
Mackenzie Swan celebrated senior night with a seventh-place time of 23:58 behind teammates Maddison DeOrnellas (third, 21:52), Audrey McCoy (fourth, 21:54), Kyla Franckey (fifth, 22:06) and Sydney Pickens (sixth, 23:31).
Grace McCoy finished ninth with a time of 24:15 while Iris Latimer placed 10th with a time of 26:18, Cora Busby finished 11th with a time of 26:48 and Elizabeth Megson finished 12th with a time of 29:13.
The PBL girls were the only full team on the girls’ side.
On the boys’ side, Tri-Point defeated Villa Grove 22-35.
Tri-Point’s Joe Faris finished second with a time of 17:37 while PBL’s Isaiah Busby finished third with a time of 17:46.
Tri-Point’s Aiden Pelehowski and Allen Lucero finished fourth and fifth, respectively, with times of 18:19 and 18:52 while PBL’s Eli Grohler finished seventh with a time of 19:22. Mitch Woods placed eighth with a time of 19:30 and Anthony Harrell finished 11th with a time of 19:47 for Tri-Point while Zane Latimer finished 12th with a time of 19:54 for PBL.
Tri-Point’s Glen Richie, Nate Smith and Hunter Davies finished 14th, 19th and 26th, respectively, with times of 21:02, 21:17 and 24:30 while PBL’s Arlo Linder finished 27th with a time of 24:58.
